The International Association of School Nurses & Health Promotion (ISNA), is an international association whose main objective is to represent and support all nurses who develop their daily tasks in educational centres, as well as fighting for the right to provide medical assistance and
health promotion in schools, for children and adolescents from all over the world.
The objectives of the Association related to the joint statement include:
The Association has published a statement on the competencies and comprehensive role of school nurses that extends beyond school health services to encompass a variety of health promotion and health education as well as coordinating school health programs.

- creating and standardizing school nursing protocols at an international level
- validating the role of the school nurse internationally, as well as, promoting consensual projects to achieve its implementation in all schools
- promoting health prevention and health promotion in all schools
